Jim Ross Says Brock Lesnar vs Jon Jones Would Do 1 Million Pay-Per-View Buys

Jim Ross thinks Brock Lesnar will fight in UFC again and not hurt his WWE career.

As part of UFC 214 fight week, Jon Jones answered questions from fans on Facebook live. When he was asked about fighting Brock Lesnar in a mixed-martial-arts fight, Jones replied that he would "love" to fight Lesnar. Subsequently, Lesnar told AP News he would fight Jones "anytime, anywhere." In a recent blog, Jim Ross wrote about the potential fight and said the fight would do well financially.

Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva 1 At UFC 117 Announced To Be Inducted Into The UFC Hall Of Fame

"Interesting sound bytes from Brock Lesnar and Jon Jones regarding the potential of a @UFC fight between the two perhaps some day in the future. Both men were accomplished amateur grapplers from their college days and both are badass alpha males...there is no doubt that a Lesnar-Jones fight would generate north of 1M PPV buys quite easily, I'm thinking," wrote Ross.

Earlier this month, a report emerged that Lesnar had re-entered USADA's testing pool which would be the first step to fight in UFC again. UFC executive Jeff Novitzky said Lesnar had not re-entered the pool or inquired about it yet. But if he were to enter the pool soon, he would be eligible to fight around the time his WWE contract is up. In his blog, Ross said Lesnar could fight in UFC and not risk his WWE career.

"Yes, I do think that Brock Lesnar will again fight in the UFC because he can generate a giant, payday(s) for his family and, I assume, would still maintain a positive relationship with @WWE. Seems like this matter of  Lesnar return to UFC is inevitable and should be a win/win for all involved as it relates to the cash. Winning or losing a UFC fight won't hamper Lesnar's value to WWE in the least to my way of thinking. Based on what I know, I see no reason that a Lesnar return to UFC would cease Brock's WWE paydays over the long haul," wrote Ross.

Lesnar is facing three other wrestlers at WWE Summerslam in a fatal four-way match for his WWE Universal Championship. On Saturday at UFC 214, Jones faces his long time rival Daniel Cormier for the UFC Light-heavyweight Championship. Fightful will be providing live coverage for both WWE Summerslam and UFC 214
