Jim Ross says being the bad guy could help Roman Reigns in the long run.
Monday, Reigns was confronted by The Undertaker on Raw. The man who he eliminated from the Royal Rumble match stood in the middle of the ring and chokeslammed Reigns. The Undertaker, who is 22-1 at Wrestlemania, gestured towards the Wrestlemania sign hanging in the arena right before laying out Reigns. Ross wrote in his blog from Tuesday, a match between the two at Wrestlemania 33 would give momentum to Reigns if the match was booked correctly.
"Taker/Reigns interaction was money. Loved the choke slam and so did the fans in the great, wrestling city of Chicago. I'd likely put Reigns over in Orlando via cheating to gain an unfair advantage as it would facilitate Reigns leaving WM with immense heat and bragging rights to carry Roman farther down the road. That obviously sets up the eventual 'face turn which will make Roman Reigns the huge, fan favorite, face of the company talent that has been WWE's focus for a long while," wrote Ross.
Reigns has been the recipient of mixed reviews by WWE fans, some thinking he would be better as a bad guy. He has said he has no interest in being a "heel." Reigns defeated Braun Strowman at WWE Fastlane, who was calling out Reigns to the ring when The Undertaker arrived. In his blog, Ross would also write about Raw's Women and Cruiserweight title picture. He would also say Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar should be the last match at Wrestlemania 33.
