Jimi Manuwa Compares Cormier And Jon Jones Trash Talk To The WWE

MMA

Jimi Manuwa is going to be sitting on the sidelines as UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier defends the belt against Jon Jones at UFC 214.

The trash talk between champion and challenger is comparable to the WWE according to the British slugger.

“They’re trying to sell the fight, but it’s just trash talking—WWE s*it and that,” Manuwa said to Champions. “We all know they don’t like each other, but it is, what it is you know. I don’t buy into any of that trash talking and s*it. I just let my fighting do the talking—I don’t put up with trash talk and I respect all the athletes.”

Manuwa would have gotten the title shot against Cormier if Jones turned down the rematch.

Despite the trash talk between DC and Jones, UFC fans shouldn’t expect to hear much of the stuff from Manuwa.

“Trust me, if anyone says anything, I always come back with full force and that,” Manuwa said. “That’s why I don’t do any trash talking. I take this seriously, and I know myself and I know what my temper is like. I prefer face-to-face confrontation, so I like to keep calm and let my fighting do the talking—legally.”

UFC Fight Night 107 was the last time MMA fans saw Manuwa compete, as he knocked out Corey Anderson in the main event.
