Jinder Mahal Attributes Drastic Change In Physique To Hard Work, Not Drugs

Since Jinder Mahal returned to WWE last year, one of the biggest noticeable changes is Mahal's vastly improved physique. Despite any rumors to the contrary, Mahal says he achieved his new look directly through hard work, not drugs.

In an interview with the Times of India, Mahal said he is clean and that he does not receive any special treatment from WWE that would have put him in a WWE title match.

"I don't know what kind of criticism that was. I worked hard in the gym a lot," Mahal said. "All the WWE talents are drug tested by a third-party agency and I have been tested multiple times and never had an issue, so you know my transformation is all diet, all hard work. I am a tested athlete like every other WWE wrestler. I have no special privilege; nothing like that. I look like an athlete, I perform like an athlete, I carry myself like an athlete and WWE was not hesitant to put me in a WWE title match."

Mahal then took advantage of the opportunity presented to him and is now the WWE Champion after beating Randy Orton on the Backlash pay-per-view on May 21, becoming the second person in WWE history of Indian descent to win the WWE Championship, after The Great Khali.
