Jinder Mahal Defends WWE Title Against AJ Styles This Tuesday On Smackdown, Rusev Comments

A big WWE title match is scheduled for this Tuesday on Smackdown in Manchester, England.

Following a vicious assault by Mahal on Styles last week, Smackdown GM Shane McMahon issued the following on Twitter:

Becky Lynch: We Always Need At Least One Champ In The House, I Want To Make My Daughter Proud

AJ Styles faced Samir Singh this past week on Smackdown and made quick work of him, much like how he manhandled Sunil Singh the week before. After pinning Singh with the Styles Clash, Jinder Mahal jumped Styles, planting him with the Khallas in the middle of the ring.

In recent weeks, Mahal has called out both Styles and Brock Lesnar, challenging the latter to a match at Survivor Series. Lesnar accepted recently, making the match official. It will pit the Universal vs. WWE champions in a non-title match.

Both brands of the WWE are in Europe for the next week, touring all over the continent. Big things have already gone down, as yesterday Triple H teamed with the Shield. Bray Wyatt has also made his return after being gone for a few weeks due to a viral infection He lost to Triple H and the Shield in a six person match.

Styles was actually set to take on former WWE United States Champion Rusev on next week's episode of Smackdown in a Survivor Series qualifying match for the Smackdown team. There's no word on how that will play out, but Rusev is under the impression that Styles has already given up.
