Joanna Jedrzejczyk Looking To Become A Double Champion

MMA

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is the current UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion, but she has her eyes set on becoming a double champion in the UFC, much like Conor McGregor.

Jedrzejczyk recently appeared on The MMA Hour, which is where she revealed her plans on following in the footsteps of McGregor.

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler Officially Announced For UFC 303, Will Take Place At Welterweight

"Yes, in 2017. I think I earned that, I deserve that and I feel like I got so much attention from the media, the international media and from Dana. I look to go for great fights. I think this might happen. I want to enjoy my victory, I have some work to do, enjoy some time with my family and then I will talk to UFC, with Dana and we will figure out what to do,” Jedrzejczyk said.

Jedrzejczyk wants to become a UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion, but the problem is that the UFC has yet to make the division a reality. In fact, there has only been a single women’s flyweight division fight in the UFC, that bout saw Joanne Calderwood defeat Valerie Letourneau at UFC Fight Night 89.

The only other women’s division in the UFC at the moment is the women’s bantamweight division, Amanda Nunes is the current champion there.
