John Cena Not Currently Scheduled For The Elimination Chamber PPV

The Elimination Chamber is returning to the WWE, but when it does, John Cena won't be inside it.

Probably.

The gimmick-match-centric Pay-Per-View will be returning on Sunday, February 12, 2017, and will be the final SmackDown pay-per-view before WrestleMania 33, on April 2. Elimination Chamber will be held at the TSR Arena in Phoenix, AZ, and tickets for the show go on sale next Friday, December 16th at 10am. But before you mark your calendars, Arizona WWE fans, there's something you should know.

John Cena is not currently scheduled for the event. The wrestlers advertised for the show are AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, The Usos, Becky Lynch, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Natalya and Nikki Bella. That doesn't include new Smackdown Women's Champion Alexa Bliss, so presumably she will be added to the event at some point. It also doesn't include current #1 Contender for the WWE World Championship James Ellsworth. He might be added as well.

And so might Cena.

But The Face That Used To Run The Place has been dabbling more and more in the world of acting and television hosting, so it's entirely possible he won't be available on that date due to schedule conflicts.

He is hosting this weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live, and is currently filming the second season of FOX's American Grit. He is scheduled to return to WWE at the December 26th live event at Madison Square Garden, but he is expected to take another hiatus early next year to film a new comedy film called The Pact. He plays one of the leads in the movie, alongside Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz.
