John Dodson got back into the winner's circle at Saturday's UFC Fight Night 108 defeating former bantamweight title challenger Eddie Wineland by unanimous decision. Dodson put on a clinic against Wineland. He got in, connected on shots, got out of danger before the hard-hitting Wineland could go off on an attack.

The Nashville crowd didn't care too much for Dodson's performance, and let him know about it during and after the fight. in his post-fight interview in the cage with Brian Stann, the former two-time flyweight title challenger responded to the booing and didn't mince his words.

"You guys can boo me all you like but give him (Wineland) a round of applause," Dodson expressed to Stann. "He came out here to fight."

After thinking about what happened inside the octagon, in a post-fight media scrum, Dodson still bothered by the matter took a jab the Nashville faithful.

“Fans just don’t understand that, because one, I think they’re a little too inebriated,” Dodson said“They just got done with the Predators [hockey] game, this is where they play. And I can guarantee you that 90 percent of those dudes don’t know who’s on that team. They probably saw that defender and said, ‘Who the hell is that black dude, does he play for the Tennessee Titans?’”

Now that he is back on track, Dodson (19-8) already has his eyes set on another contender, Jimmie Rivera who in his last fight, dominated Urijah Faber to win by unanimous decision at UFC 203 in September. "The Magician" challenged Rivera for a short notice tilt last year but Rivera turned it down as he wasn't too impressed with Dodson's social media activity.

“There’s somebody else I’d love to crack and beat the (expletive) out of and that’s Jimmie Rivera,” Dodson said. “If he wants me to go out there and stand in the pocket, I’ll show I can stay in the center of the Octagon. If he wants to throw down with me, let’s see. Quit being a (expletive).”
