Jon Jones Reveals Two Things He Wishes He Could Take Back The Most

MMA

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones hasn’t competed since a decision win over Ovince St. Preux at UFC 187.

The former champion returns at UFC 214 following a lengthy suspension and various personal issues. However, when the former champ looks back at everything he has done in his life, there are a pair of things he wishes that he could take back more than anything else.

"The two things I wish I could take back the most," Jones said to Bleacher Report"(They) are the hit-and-run and the UFC 200 being canceled because of the estrogen blockers. Those are my two biggest regrets in my career. A lot of the other stuff that's happened—you know, the DWI—that's the kind of shit that young kids are gonna do."

UFC 200 wasn’t canceled, but the promotion had to scramble to reshuffle the card after Jones was suspended by USADA.

Jones also admits that he freaked out when he caused the car accident.

"I didn't get in my car and look around for the first female I saw to crash into her. I was a little hungover. And I was headed to a friend's house. And I got in a car accident. And then I just freaked out, man. I was like, Man, I'm probably gonna be in a lot of trouble here. I went back to the car to try and find my [marijuana] pipe. It was in the cupholder, but it flew out. Now I keep it in the middle console,” says Jones.

UFC 214 takes place on Saturday, July 29 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
