Jose Aldo Willing To Take Dives If Not Released

It's not exactly a secret that UFC Interim Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo is currently at odds with the UFC.

Aldo is set to meet with the UFC to negotiate a way out of the promotion, but he has an interesting plan should he not get things his way.

"If they release me, that would be great, but if not, what can we do? I have other projects and that depends on this meeting we're having with them. If I want to retire, no contract can stop me. I can go there and say (I'm retired) and they can't force me to fight. A lawyer already looked at the contract, but I don't want to fight (the UFC in court). I don't want anything. Ah, you want me to fight MMA again? So I'll get in there and tap right away, and the fight is over. I'd do it quickly. What I really want is other things for my life,” Aldo said to MMA Fighting.

Aldo’s last bout with the promotion was a unanimous decision win over former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 200, the bout saw him capture the interim featherweight title.

Aldo is probably the first fighter to ever admit in a public setting to admit that he would throw a fight if he does not get his way with the UFC. Aldo has repeatedly voiced his frustrations in regard to Conor McGregor fighting Eddie Alvarez instead of him.
