Kurt Angle Believes He Would 'Easily' Pass A WWE Physical; 'I Don't Think I'm Close To Being Done'

Newly minted WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle was interviewed for Sports Illustrated's "Extra Mustard" column about the possibility that he could very well wrestle again in a WWE ring.

"I don't think I'm done. I don't think I'm close to being done," Angle said. "I'm not going to tell you that I will wrestle for another five years, but I believe there are numerous matches ahead of me. WWE has not given me any notification that I am going to wrestle, but I believe the fans will speak."

During all of his interviews recently, Angle has been very careful to mention that the WWE has not given him the go ahead that he will be wrestling in the futiure, but when you break down what he's saying, it seems like Angle believes he's physically ready to compete right now.

"If everything goes the right way with the physical, which I believe I would pass very easily, I believe there is an opportunity for fans to see Kurt Angle wrestle in WWE."

He believes he would pass a WWE physical "very easily," which is very encouraging for fans who are itching to see Angle lock up with an opponent again.

However, he did add another hedge, saying, "again, I have to reiterate, they have not talked about that at all."

Kurt Angle has not competed for WWE since 2006, but he had a long career with TNA Impact Wrestling, and has recently been taking independent bookings both here and in The UK. He recently faced Alberto Del Rio for WCPW in England, and tomorrow, he'll be taking on Cody Rhodes in a Steel Cage at Wrestlefest in Waterbury, Connecticut, in what will be his final independent match before returning to the WWE.
