Liam McGeary Injured, Off Bellator 185

Former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion Liam McGeary has suffered an unspecified injury and has been pulled from next week’s Bellator 185 event.

The former champion was set to fight UFC veteran Bubba McDaniel at the event, but the UFC veteran has been pulled from the card as well.

McDaniel was actually a replacement fighter himself, as he was replacing the injured King Mo, who was pulled from the card last week.

A women’s flyweight division bout between a pair of debutants in Ana Julaton and Lisa Blaine has been moved from the preliminary card to the main card. With that fight being moved up, the main card will stay at five fights. Also, a welterweight division fight between David Rickels and Brennan Ward will now serve as the co-main event for the show.

There is also no word on this time if Bellator MMA officials will rebook Liam McGeary against King Mo or Bubba McDaniel or if the fighters will all go their separate ways.

Bellator 185 takes place on Friday, October 20 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Gegard Mousasi and Alexander Shlemenko headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Spike TV.
