A lightweight division attraction is the latest addition to the upcoming UFC Fight Night 109 card as Damir Hadzovic will be in action against Marcin Held.
Hadzovic (10-3-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped his lone fight to Mairbek Taisumov at UFC Fight Night 86 last year. Hadzovic fought twice in the Cage Warriors promotion as well, where he holds a victory over fellow UFC veteran John Maguire. Hadzovic will be competing for the first time in well over a year, which is the longest gap in fights during his professional MMA career.
Held (22-6-0) is another fighter who is currently winless thus far during his UFC tenure, dropping fights to the duo of Diego Sanchez and Joe Lauzon. Held has previously challenged for the Bellator MMA Lightweight Title, but lost the title bout to then champion Will Brooks at Bellator 145. Held did win the final Bellator MMA Lightweight Tournament, defeating Nate Jolly by submission in the finals.
UFC Fight Night 109 takes place on Saturday, May 28 from the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden with Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
