Marion Reneau Not Accepting Draw With Bethe Correia

Marion Reneau fought former women’s bantamweight title challenger Bethe Correia to a majority draw at UFC Fight Night 106.

However, a draw against Correia is something the fighter cannot accept. Reneau was able to levy a dominant second round that earned her 10-8 scorecards.

“I believe she won the first round; maybe she might’ve edged me out a little bit,” said Reneau after the event. “I don’t accept the draw. I don’t accept it. … I probably should have been more aggressive the second round, but I do believe I edged her out.”

The draw was the first one that both Reneau and Correia had in their professional MMA careers. One big factor that Reneau feels lead to the draw is that she started off the fight in a slow manner.

“I started off slow,” she said. “I should have started off a little bit faster, and initially, that’s just the way I start off my fights typically. I need to pull my head out of my butt and start off a little bit faster.”

Past victories in the UFC for Reneau have come over Alexis Dufresne, Milana Dudieva and Jessica Andrade. The losses that Reneau has suffered in the UFC have come to former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm and Ashlee Evans-Smith.
