Matt Riddle Is In No Hurry To Get To WWE

In Matt Riddle's time with Fightful, he'd often specify that he's in no hurry to get to WWE

During an interview with Jim Ross on The Ross Report Podcast, the former WWN Champion seemed to indicate that things haven't changed much since his days at Fightful, saying that a New Japan run may be in the cards first.

“Right now I really enjoy what I’m doing. I work for a different promotion every weekend. I work three to four times a week, I make my own schedule. I would like to get over to New Japan, possibly WWE or NXT down the road. Right now I’m killing it on the indies, I’m building a reputation, I’m building more and more and more fans. I’m in control of all of my merch and everything else. Things are good,” said Riddle.

Riddle was rumored to be joining his PWG partner in Jeff Cobb over in New Japan Pro Wrestling for this year's World Tag League tournament, but the deal fell through. Based on what happened between Michael Elgin and Jeff Cobb in recent weeks, giving Riddle a shot may have been in NJPW's best interests after all.
