Mayweather Says McGregor Struggling To Make Weight, McGregor Tells Him To Shut Up

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are a few days away from their highly anticipated super fight.

Mayweather is under the assumption that the UFC fighter is struggling to make weight for their super fight, which is going to be contested at 154 pounds.

“I know about fighters,” Mayweather said to USA Today. “I know every detail of a fighter. I know everything that goes on in their camp.”

McGregor, at least in MMA, has never missed weight for a fight while competing at both featherweight (145 pounds) and lightweight (155 pounds). Mayweather told MMA Fighting that McGregor received 7 IV bags, which Fightful has confirmed isn't true.

The Irish fighter has one simple request for Mayweather and that is for the legendary boxer to simply shut his mouth.

“He needs to shut his mouth,” McGregor said to USA Today. “It is a fool of a thing. Let him keep praying, praying for weight, for fatigue, praying for me to take a backward step. All he is doing is praying, but he is praying to the new god of boxing.”

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
