Megan Anderson Wants A Shot At Cyborg, But Dana White Says Amanda Nunes Is Next

UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg successfully defended the gold against Yana Kunitskaya in the main event of UFC 222.

Megan Anderson is the current Invicta FC Featherweight Champion and the fighter believes the next opportunity at Cyborg should come to her.

Anderson made her feelings known through Twitter:

Cyborg and Anderson were linked together for a title bout last year at UFC 214, but Anderson was pulled from the encounter and replaced by Tonya Evinger.

Standing in the way of a potential Cyborg versus Anderson bout is UFC President Dana White, who said that UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes would be next for Cyborg.

“Could be (in Rio) (UFC 224),” White said to MMA Junkie. “I mean, she just fought, so once the adrenaline goes down, she’s got to get checked out and make sure she’s 100 percent. And I just think her and Nunes is the fight that needs to happen.”

The news of a potential Cyborg versus Nunes bout could also spoil things for bantamweight contender Raquel Pennington, who was rumored to be fighting Nunes at UFC 224.

It should be noted that nothing has been made official at this time as far as whats next for the UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion and the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.
