A welterweight division attraction is the latest addition to the Bellator 179 card as Michael Page will be seeing action against Derek Anderson.
Page (12-0-0) has already earned seven victories under the Bellator MMA banner, with the most notable of those victories coming over Nah-Shon Burrell, Rudy Bears, Evangelista Santos and Fernando Gonzalez. Page has seen nine of his twelve wins as a pro come via first round finish, with the fastest of those wins taking just ten whole seconds. Page has fought in a Bellator MMA event in England before, defeating Evangelista Santos by knockout at Bellator 158.
Anderson (14-3-0-1NC) has won five of eight fights thus far in Bellator MMA competition, with those five wins coming over Patricky Freire (twice), Brandon Girtz, Danny Navarro and Saad Awad. Anderson will be making his Bellator MMA Welterweight Division debut in this fight, all his previous fights in the promotion came in the lightweight division. Anderson is also a longtime veteran of the Xplode Fight Series promotion, where none of his eight fights in the promotion went to the judge’s scorecards.
Bellator 179 takes place on Friday, May 19 from the Wembley Arena in London, England with Paul Daley and Rory MacDonald headlining.
