UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has signed his half of the bout agreement to face legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather, while negotiations are on going with Mayweather.
If the fight finally does come together, the legendary boxer in Mike Tyson predicts that McGregor would look ridiculous against Mayweather.
“No, I don’t believe it can ruin boxing at all. Only way it can ruin boxing is if McGregor goes and boxes Floyd because he’s going to look really ridiculous boxing him,” Tyson told Sirius XM channel 93. “But if he goes in there with the UFC stuff, now this could be pretty interesting.”
Tyson is a longtime fan of mixed martial arts as well and he once did color commentary for a Bellator MMA fight, a fight that saw UFC veteran Melvin Guillard get knocked out.
The legendary boxer also knows that if the fight comes together, that it will do a great buyrate because fans are willing to buy anything.
“People will pay for anything,” Tyson said. “If two people are fighting, people will pay for it.”
Although there is no date set yet for the potential super fight, a Showtime executive said that the fight would be held sometime in the fall.
