An update on former WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson's condition in the aftermath of his December 1 fight against Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
Promoter Yvon Michel wrote on Twitter that Stevenson's condition has gone from critical to stable after reportedly being in a medically-induced coma. Stevenson was knocked out by Gvozdyk in the 11th round of their world title fight in Canada.

According to Le Journal De Montreal, Stevenson was placed in a medically induced coma after Michel stated that he was in critical condition. This was done as a preventative measure as Stevenson could be dealing with a possible brain hemorrhage.
Mike Coppinger reported that Stevenson collapsed in his locker room after getting knocked out by Gvozdyk and nearly dropped out of the ring. Before collapsing, Stevenson appeared to have regained his senses and was able to talk to Michel before heading to a shower. Once Stevenson left the shower, he started to feel dizzy and was having trouble standing up.

The 41-year-old Stevenson was carried out in a stretcher and immediately transported to a hospital. The report from Le Journal De Montreal stated that Stevenson lost consciousness on the way to the Enfant-Jésus Hospital in Quebec City, where the fight took place.
Michel gave a brief update on Twitter saying that Stevenson was in a controlled environment being taken care of "very competent doctors" before saying that he will not divulge any more information on Stevenson's condition so that he does not run the risk of misinformation being spread.

Stevenson was ahead on two of the three scorecards for the fight against Gvozdyk. Stevenson lost his WBC 175-pound title, ending one of the sport's longest active world title reigns as Stevenson had won the title since 2013.
