Former world champion Adrien Broner is back behind bars, but won't stay put for long.
Broner was ordered to spend the next three days in jail at a hearing for an outstanding warrant for disorderly conduct from an incident at a Kentucky bar dating back all the way back to 2014. Broner, 27, pleaded guilty to the disorderly conduct charge and received a suspended sentence. However, he was charged with contempt for failing to appear in court for previous hearings in the case and was sentenced to three days in jail, according to Fox 19 in Cincinnati.
It was the second time in as many months that Broner had problems with the law. Broner was arrested on an open warrant and booked into the Kenton County Detention Center in Covington, Kentucky, just outside of his hometown of Cincinnati last April, though he was released a few hours later after posting a $503 bond. Broner was stopped by Kentucky police after crossing into the state in a bullet-riddled SUV.
Broner also posted cryptic messages on social media last year hinting that he would commit suicide. Broner had been sentenced to 30 days in jail last summer after missing his appointed trial time for a January incident outside of a Cincinnati bowling alley which saw him charged with felony assault and aggravated robbery charges.
Broner has fought only once this year, a split decision victory against Adrian Granados back in February.
