Al Iaquinta Wants UFC To Meet Financial Demands For Paul Felder Bout

Al Iaquinta hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since defeating Diego Sanchez by knockout at UFC Fight Night 108.

The New York native has been offered another shot at Paul Felder, but the fighter wants the UFC to match his financial demands before stepping into the Octagon.

“Guys are getting paid to fight scrubs,” Iaquinta said on MMA Junkie Radio. “I’m just trying to get paid frickin’ something to live on for these guys that are (expletive) everyone up. They were trying to get me to fight (Paul) Felder again, but I told them what I wanted (financially) to fight him, and it wasn’t unreasonable, but I haven’t heard back from them. The ball’s in their court right now.”

Iaquinta was initially supposed to fight Felder at UFC 218, but he pulled out of the bout due to an injury. When Iaquinta takes a look at what lower ranked fighters are making compared to him, it makes the real estate agent and fighter believe what was requested isn’t unreasonable.

“There’s a lot of guys in the UFC that are getting paid way more than what I asked for, and they don’t even have a number next to their name, and they haven’t knocked anyone out,” Iaquinta said. “What I asked for is not unreasonable, and it’s in their court now. I don’t know what they’re going to do, but I don’t think they like me. I think they’re probably just going to let me (sit out and not fight).”

Even though Iaquinta acknowledges that the UFC offered him the bout against Felder, one thing that wasn’t revealed is when the encounter may take place.
