Alex Oliveira has competed in main event fights before in the UFC, as he headlined a UFC Fight Night card earlier this year, a losing effort to Donald Cerrone.
At UFC 207, Oliveira will be competing in the first fight of the card, as he will be taking on Tim Means in the lone fight on UFC Fight Pass.
"I’m ready and focused,” Oliveira told MMA Fighting. "I’m f***ing happy to be fighting at the same event of Ronda Rousey. I’m proud and thrilled. My dream was to watch Ronda fight, fight on the same event. And I’m fighting, too. She’s fighting a Brazilian, and I will open the card. I’m so happy, brother. I’m fighting a tough opponent, and I’m happy.”
Even though Oliveira is fighting on the same card as Rousey, he is picking a fellow Brazilian in Amanda Nunes to defeat her in the main event.
“(Rousey) went after her dream, and she doesn't back down from a fight. She goes for it,” he said. "I'll cheer for her, but the belt will come back to Brazil. That’s a fact.”
UFC 207 takes place tonight from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey headlining.
