A pair of flyweight division stalwarts are ready for action at this months UFC On Fox 28 card as Alex Perez is going to be battling Eric Shelton.
Perez (19-4-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Carls John De Tomas by second round submission at UFC Fight Night Fresno. Perez also competed on Dana White?s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 5, defeating Kevin Gray by submission. Perez is a former Tachi Palace Fighting Bantamweight Champion, defeating Anthony Figueroa at TPF 22 in February 2015 to win the gold.
Shelton (11-4-0) has won just one of three fights in UFC competition, with that lone win coming over Jenel Lausa at UFC Fight Night Sydney. Shelton won the Caged Aggression Flyweight Title in his professional MMA debut, defeating Stephen Gladhill to win the strap in July of 2013. Shelton also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24, making it to the semi-finals of the reality show before losing to Tim Elliott.
UFC On Fox 28 takes place on Saturday, February 24 from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida with Josh Emmett and Jeremy Stephens headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
