Alexander Gustafsson was all set to fight Volkan Oezdemir this past August at UFC 227, but pulled out of the fight due to a minor injury.

The injury has seemingly healed, which is why the two time title challenger is ready to get back inside of the Octagon.

“It’s just a minor injury,” he said to MMA Viking. “It’s nothing to talk about really. It’s just a [expletive] thing, and it gets on my nerves. But it is was it is. I’m here now, and I’ll do everything in my power to bounce back, and I will in a couple of weeks.”

Gustafsson hasn’t competed since UFC Fight Night 109, where he defeated Glover Teixeira in the main event.

Not only is Gustafsson ready to fight again, but the top ranked light heavyweight doesn’t care who the opponent is at UFC 229.

“I had some problems before my fight. I got injured, but I am here and training,” Gustafsson said. “Shit happens. I have been having issues with my back thigh, but I feel good. I’m looking forward to my next fight. I’ll fight anyone. Hopefully the 6th of October. I am ready.”

UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
