Ali Abdelaziz Not Happy With Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Fine

MMA

Ali Abdelaziz serves as the manager for UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was recently handed the fighter a nine month suspension and $500,000 fine for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor only received a $50,000 fine and a six month suspension, but that fine doesn?t sit well with Abdelaziz.

?I don?t think it?s fair,? Abdelaziz said to Ariel Helwani of ESPN. ?Khabib gets $500k and Conor gets $50k? I think it?s bullsh-t.?

Nurmagomedov?s suspension could be reduced three month if the fighter chooses to enter in an anti-bullying program, it is unknown if Nurmagomedov will go down that path.

Zubaira Tukhugov and Abubakar Nurmagomedov also received one year suspensions for their roles in the brawl, which also doesn?t sit well with Abdelaziz.

?That?s fair. They?ll (Nurmagomedov & McGregor) both get six months (if Nurmagomedov enrolls in the program),? Abdelaziz said. ?But for his teammates, it?s too much.?

Tukhugov and Abubakar may have gotten the longest suspensions, but they also got the lowest fines at $25,000 each.
