Amazon To Sell UFC PPV’s Starting This Saturday Night

UFC 222 was already shaping up to be a big pay-per-view, with UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg defending against Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion Yana Kunitskaya in the main event.

However, it just became a bit bigger because starting with UFC 222, all pay-per-view events are going to be sold and streamed live through Amazon Prime Video according to Sports Business Daily.

Details of the deal were not announced at this time and there is no time frame as to when that could be happening.

The steaming is going to be available at the same price ($64.99) for both Amazon Prime members and non-members.

This is a historic deal for both Amazon and the UFC because this is the first time that the web based store has offered a live pay-per-view to its customers. The deal is also a non-exclusive one in the United States, which means that the UFC could offer the pay-per-view through other services as well, both TV based and online based.

UFC 222 takes place on Saturday, March 3 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
