Amir Khan Talks Canelo Alvarez vs. GGG and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Amir Khan has been busy lately, and not just preparing for a return to the ring from injury, but also sharing his thoughts on several boxers, including one Canelo Alvarez.

It's been no secret that a potential Canelo vs. Gennady Golovkin fight is likely to happen sometime in late 2017, and Khan voiced his support for the Mexican boxing star. Khan recently spoke to esnewsreporting.com and said Canelo would beat both Golovkin and former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who had been rumored to be Canelo's next opponent with a potential fight set for Cinco De Mayo weekend.

“I think a lot of people underestimate Canelo,” Khan said. “I think Canelo’s a great fighter. He’s very strong. He’s a good boxer. He moves quite well. I give that fight to Canelo,” said Khan in speaking about Chavez Jr. vs. Canelo. Even if he fought Triple G, I think he beats Triple G. A lot of people are underestimating him. I don’t know why. I’ve been in the ring with Canelo. He’s hard to hit. He’s quite tricky, and like I said, he hits very hard. I think he’d give a lot of people problems. He’ll beat Chavez. I like Chavez. I just think he’s got the style. He’s a little more fluid."

Khan does not have an opponent for his return fight, but he has expressed interest in fighting welterweight champion Kell Brook in April. Khan is recovering from surgery to correct a hand problem that has plagued him throughout his career.
