Anderson Silva is set to face Tyron Woodley in a boxing match on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua.
The event is set for December 19.
Anderson “The Spider” Silva is officially back.
On Nov. 21, Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix announced that Silva will face fellow MMA great Tyron Woodley in a 6-round professional cruiserweight bout on the main card of Jake vs. Joshua, streaming live globally on Friday, Dec. 19 from the Kaseya Center in Miami. The fight replaces Silva’s originally scheduled matchup with Chris Weidman, who withdrew due to injury.
The matchup brings two of MMA’s most influential figures into the boxing ring — with Silva (3-2, 2 KOs boxing, 34-11, 22 KOs MMA) returning after high-profile wins over Julio César Chávez Jr. and Tito Ortiz, and Woodley (0-2 boxing, 19-7-1, 7 KOs MMA) stepping in for his first fight since facing Jake Paul.
Silva is a former UFC Middleweight Champion, while Woodley is a former UFC Welterweight Champion.
