Andrea Lee Issues Statement On Fight Pullout

Andrea Lee was set to make her UFC debut at UFC 216 against the also debuting Kalindra Faria, but was pulled out of the fight by USADA due to a previous violation.

In an attempt to clear the air of the situation and tell her side of the story, the Legacy Fighting Alliance Women’s Flyweight Champion has decided to issue a statement through Instagram:

It'll be a short six months. Be back. I had 4 fights this year. Body probably needs a short rest then a 4 month camp.

Faria, who was scheduled to fight Lee, is expected to remain on the card as UFC officials are seeking a replacement fighter to compete against her.

UFC 216 takes place on Saturday, October 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
