Andrey Koreshkov Still Wants To Fight Lorenz Larkin

Former Bellator MMA Welterweight Champion Andrey Koreshkov competed at Bellator 219, earning a decision win over Mike Jasper.

Jasper was a late replacement for the injured Lorenz Larkin, which a competitor that Koreshkov still wants to fight.

“Most definitely, the Lorenz Larkin fight is one of the fights that I’m really looking forward to,” Koreshkov said after the event (via Fernanda Prates & John Morgan of MMA Junkie). “I think this fight will be great. Also, there are many other exciting and strong guys, like Erick Silva and others. So right now, I just want to take a little bit of a rest after this fight, very short, and then get ready for the next challenge.”

There is no word yet on when the injured Larkin will return to action, but he is also an alternate in the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix.

When it comes to the aforementioned welterweight world grand prix, one fighter that Koreshkov believes can win it all in former Bellator MMA Welterweight Champion Douglas Lima.

“I think Douglas Lima has the best chances of winning, as well as Rory MacDonald” Koreshkov said. “I think they both advance to the finals. But, if Douglas prepares well and if he does everything right, I think he has all the chances of winning the whole thing and becoming champion.”

Lima and Koreshkov have collided three times in the past, with Lima holding a 2-1 advantage in that series.
