Anthony Johnson Takes First USADA Drug Test Since Announcing UFC Return

Anthony Johnson has revealed his intentions to return to the UFC and the fighter has now taken another step in that return, thanks to USADA.

That step was that the fighter recently took his first United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) issued drug test on September 10, according to MMA Junkie. Johnson must pass all tests for the next six months before being cleared for a return to UFC action, which could happen as early as February of 2021. There is no word at this time as to whether of not the fighter has passed the drug test or when another one will take place.

Johnson hasn?t competed in over three years, with his last fight being a second-round submission loss to the now-retired Daniel Cormier at UFC 210 in April of 2017. The fighter will return to a light heavyweight division that currently has no champion. Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz will battle for the vacant gold later this month in the co-main event of UFC 253.
