Anthony Joshua On Mike Tyson: "[He] Would Have Battered Me!"

Anthony Joshua knows a thing or two about beating legendary heavyweight boxers and Joshua doesn't think he could beat Mike Tyson in a boxing match.

In a recent public appearance, Joshua said he would have taken a fight with Tyson for the big payday that a Tyson fight usually brought. Joshua said he respects Tyson's career and knew he couldn't beat the former heavyweight champion.

“Mike Tyson would have battered me," Joshua said. “There was no way I could have taken on that guy. I would have taken that paycheck. You know what I done against Klitschko in that sixth round when I took that dive? I’m joking. I would have taken a dive against Tyson. He was a beast, mate, he was a beast. I give all credit and respect to Tyson. Even now, Tyson is in his 40s going on 50, I still remember Tyson as the young, young 21-year-old. He was that good and made such an impact on the sport."

Joshua knocked out Wladimir Klitschko, the former unified world heavyweight champion, back in April to become the unified champion and, by extension, become the sport's top heavyweight boxer. A rematch is still in the works, with rumors circulating that the two will meet again in November in Las Vegas, Nevada.
