Now that Anthony Joshua has dealt with Eric Molina, Joshua said he is now fully focused on his next opponent, Wladimir Klitschko.
In an article by ESPN's Nick Parkinson, Joshua said the large amount of people that is expected to attend the mega heavyweight clash will not deter him. Joshua said he wants to come in and outbox the former unified heavyweight champion.
"I just wanted to focus on this fight with Molina but to see Klitschko here tonight makes it real," Joshua said. "It doesn't matter whether it's 90,000 or nine people, it's the same regulations and rules and it's to win. I'm going to box Klitschko for 12 rounds, make him miss and make him pay, and if the knockout comes I will be able to say I did something no one else did. But I'm not going in there to say I'm going to knock Klitschko out in two rounds. It is the perfect time for me to move up another step and contest my heavyweight championship belt against one of the legends of our sport."
The two will fight for Joshua's IBF heavyweight title and the vacant WBA "super" heavyweight championship is expected to also be on the line. The bout will take place at Wembley Stadium on April 29 with the expectation that it could draw a record 90,000 fans.
It is the second fight Joshua will have at Wembley Stadium, with the first time occurring in his sixth professional fight. Fighting in the undercard of Carl Froch vs. George Groves in 2014, Joshua needed 83 seconds to knock out Matt Legg. While Froch vs. Groves drew around 80,000, Joshua's fight was well before the entire crowd entered the arena.
Joshua dominated in his latest fight on December 10 against Eric Molina via third round TKO to retain his IBF title. Klitschko will be fighting in his first fight since losing his heavyweight titles to Tyson Fury in 2015.
