Pettis, who has won three of his last ten under the UFC banner, is considering moving up a weight class to compete at welterweight.

An opponent mentioned by Pettis is Stephen Thompson, who was last seen in action in the main event of UFC Fight Night Liverpool, suffering a decision loss to Darren Till.
The fighter has competed at both lightweight and featherweight in the UFC, capturing the UFC Lightweight Title with a win over Ben Henderson at UFC 164. Pettis had also challenged for the UFC Interim Featherweight Title, losing to Max Holloway at UFC 206. The fighter has been back at lightweight since July of 2017, earning a 2-2-0 record in those four fights.
