“I thought it was actually a good fight,” Pettis told Fight Hype. “I think McGregor actually surprised a lot of people. I don’t know how hard Mayweather was trying, but I was there, I was impressed.”

Now that the super fight is over, the Irishman is expected to return to the UFC and fight Nate Diaz in the trilogy fight.

Diaz defeated McGregor in their first meeting at UFC 196, a win that Pettis says Diaz was lucky to get in the end.

“Bro, Nate Diaz ain’t shit,” he said. “Me and Nate have had a lot of issues. I was the champ in the UFC and WEC, and Diaz was calling me out. He got lucky in the [first] fight with Conor, and he got the win, but Diaz ain’t shit. He ain’t shit.”

UFC Fight Night Norfolk takes place on Saturday, November 11 from the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia with Dustin Poirier and Anthony Pettis headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
