Gonzaga revealed the news himself during a recent appearance on Knockout Radio, stating:
“I have a real love for boxing. This is the best way to test myself, and there isn’t really a better event than that.”
BKFC President David Feldmen issued the following statement on the upcoming battle of former UFC stars:
“I am very excited to have these two legends competing in the BKFC squared circle. They have fought and beat some of the best fighters in the world and now they will fight each other. Tampa is a great fight market and we are thrilled to be able to host another event there. The fans in Tampa love BKFC and we plan on giving them another great show.”
This bout will mark the BKFC debut for both competitors, no other bouts have been announced for the card at this time.
BKFC 8 takes place on Saturday, October 19 from the Florida State Fairgrounds Entertainment Hall in Tampa, Florida. Gabriel Gonzaga and Antonio Silva will headline the card, which will stream live on Fite TV.
