Artem Lobov is facing Michael Johnson this weekend in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night Moncton.

The featherweight is also a teammate of former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and he wants to see McGregor get an immediate rematch against UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“I think that’s the fight that makes sense,” Lobov told MMA Junkie. “He’s made everyone in the UFC, including Khabib, a lot more money than they ever have made, so why not give him this? He’s been the guy that always took everybody on. There’s been many changes of opponents for him. He never blinked an eyelid – just took the fights, no problem. Never pulled out in his life. A true fighter. A fighter’s fighter. A real man. So give him the fight.”

McGregor suffered a fourth round submission loss to Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, but the lightweight champion incited a huge post-fight brawl after the win.

Lobov also believes McGregor could correct the mistakes that were made in the first bout.

“And of course, it requires a good camp,” Lobov said. “It’s not an easy opponent. There were a lot of mistakes made. Many things need to be corrected. So there’s no need to rush.”

UFC Fight Night Moncton takes place on Saturday, October 27 from the Moncton Events Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada with Volkan Oezdemir and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
