Arthur Jones Says He Could Take Out Daniel Cormier’s Team If He Had To

Arthur Jones is the brother of former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and is currently a free agent in the NFL.

The NFL star got into a brief altercation with Daniel Cormier’s team before the weigh-ins for UFC 214, but the football player says he could’ve taken out DC’s whole team is he had to.

“They were like, ‘The real champ’ and all this other bullshit,” Jones said to MMA Fighting. “After a while, I got annoyed. I was like, ‘Yeah, the paper champ.’ We started jawing back and forth. They just walked away. It really wasn’t nothing. People try to make a big thing out of nothing. I would have ragdolled all six of them — for the record.”

Daniel Cormier was not involved in the altercation, just members of his team were.

According to Jones, it looks like Cormier’s team was simply trying to make their name off of an NFL player.

“They were a bunch of wannabe UFC fighters,” he said. “I guess they’re trying to make a name for themselves, picking on an NFL player.”

UFC 214 rakes place on Saturday, July 29 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
