Austin Trout vs. Terrell Gausha Headlines PBC Card On May 25

The careers of both Austin Trout and Terrell Gausha are at a bit of a crossroads and now the two junior middleweight contenders will face off with the winner moving one step closer to challenging for a world title.

Premier Boxing Champions announced that Trout and Gausha will meet in a 10-round main event of a PBC on FS1 card on May 25. The card will take place at the Beau Rivage Resort Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Trout once ruled the 154-pound division as champion, having held the WBA title from 2011 to 2013. Trout scored the biggest win of his career when he defeated four-division champion Miguel Cotto in 2012, retaining his title, but would lose the belt to Canelo Alvarez in his next fight the following year. The 33-year-old Trout has lost three of his last four fights with all three defeats being world title bouts.

Gausha was once a promising prospect at 154 pounds, but his first crack at championship gold ended in disaster when he lost to then-WBA champion Erislandy Lara in 2017. Gausha has since then bounced back from that loss to Lara, knocking out Joey Hernandez in the first round of their fight which took place last December.

In the co-feature bout of the FS1 bout, Chordale Booker will fight Wale Omotoso in a 10-round bout at junior middleweight. Booker is a 27-year-old prospect who has won all 14 of his fights, last fighting in January when he defeated Juan De Angel by unanimous decision. Omotoso sports a 27-3 pro record, but has not fought since defeating Freddy Hernandez in 2017. Omotoso has won two of his last four fights dating back to 2015.

Unbeaten prospect Eimantas Stanionis will open the FS1 broadcast with a welterweight bout at either eight or ten rounds against an opponent to be named at a later date. Stanionis last fought in March when he dominated Sammy Figueroa to win an eight-round decision in Carson, California.
