Bellator 197 & UFC On Fox 29 Ratings Are In, Bellator 197 Beat By Combate Americas

This past weekend was filled with action for MMA fans of all kinds to enjoy, with Bellator 197 and UFC On Fox 29 taking place.

Bellator 197 started out the festivities on Friday Night, with 403,000 viewers checking out the card headlined by former lightweight champion Michael Chandler defeating Brandon Girtz. The event was simulcast on both the Paramount Network and CMT, with 242,000 people checking the bouts out on the Paramount Network and 161,000 people watching through CMT.

The numbers for Bellator 197 were terrible, especially since Combate Americas outdrew the promotion on Friday Night, bringing in a total of 583,000 viewers through their cable outlets.

UFC On Fox 29 fared better than both shows though, bringing in 2,020,000 viewers for the four fight main card that aired this past Saturday Night on Fox. The show was headlined by a lightweight division war as Dustin Poirier earned a fourth round TKO win over Justin Gaethje.

It was the main event that brought in the most viewers for UFC On Fox 29, with a total of 2,640,000 people watching Poirier pick up the win. The main card also streamed on Fox Sports Go and Fox Now, bringing in another 10,235 viewers.

A four fight preliminary card also aired live on Fox, bringing in a total of 970,000 viewers, with Antonio Carlos Jr and Tim Boetsch in the featured spot. The preliminary card also streamed live on Fox Sports Go and Fox Now, bringing in another 11,415 viewers.

Up next for the UFC is UFC Fight Night Atlantic City on Fox Sports 1, with Edson Barboza and Kevin Lee in the main event.
