MMA

Patricio Pitbull remains Bellator featherweight champion after dropping Pedro Carvalho in less than half a round at Bellator 252.

Pitbull made short work of Carvahlo in Thursday's main event. The bout served as not only a championship fight, but also a quarterfinals bout in the Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix. Take a look below at highlights from the three-fight main card.

UFC superstars who love soccer and their favourite clubs

Patricio Pitbull def. Pedro Carvalho by KO via strikes (2:10, R1) — Bellator Featherweight World Title/Grand Prix Quarterfinals

Someone should remind Carvalho to keep his chin tucked and hands up. Pitbull caught the brash challenger with his right hand down. Pitbull stepped in with a mean left hook and Carvalho leaned right into it.

Yaroslav Amosov def. Logan Storley by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Someone's 0 had to go and it was Amosov who emerged victorious in a razor-thin split decision. Storley clearly won the final round after nearly slapping on a rear-naked choke; however, the first two rounds were toss-ups. Storley would have likely won under an open scoring system, but it was Amosov who got the nod on Thursday.

Emmanuel Sanchez def. Daniel Weichel by unanimous decision (48-46, 49-46, 49-45) — Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix Quarterfinals

Sanchez seems to be world title-ready after putting the hurt on Weichel across five rounds. The most decisive stanza was round two, during which Sanchez dropped his opponent with a body shot that had Weichel in survival mode for several minutes.
