Bellator MMA Signs Rafael Lovato

Undefeated surging middleweight prospect Rafael Lovato to a multi-fight deal. He currently holds a professional MMA record of 4-0-0.

Lovato had previously spent his entire professional MMA career in the Legacy Fighting Championships, where he earned victories over Cannan Grigsby, Kevin Holland, Marcelo Nunes and Cartez Coleman. Lovato has seen all four of his wins coming by finish, with none of his fights going to the judge’s scorecards.

Bellator MMA officials have already got a debut date and opponent for Lovato, as he will be debuting at Bellator 174 and he will be taking on Wayman Carter.

Lovato is well-known in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world as well, as he became the only the third American to win the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Championships, which he accomplished in 2007. Plus, in 2013, Lovato also became the first non-Brazilian to win the Brazilian National Championships, which he did in both the middleweight division and openweight division, he did this in 2013. Lovato, while undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, did not compete as an amateur MMA fighter before turning pro.

Bellator 174 takes place on Friday, March 3 from the Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma with Marloes Coenen and Julia Budd headlining.
