Bellator MMA Veteran Arrested On Murder Charges

Roshaun Jones has been arrested by Del City (Oklahoma) police and has been charged with two counts of first degree murder, this is according to News Channel 4 out of Oklahoma.

Reports state that Jones murdered laundromat manager Nekia Jackson and a customer at the laundromat by the name of Russ Roberts. Police reviewed surveillance footage from a security camera at the establishment, where it appears that Jones first tried to rob Jackson before shooting her. Roberts was killed after coming to the aid of Jackson.

Del City Police were assisted by both the United States Marshals and the Midwest City Police Department, Jones was arrested during a traffic stop after being observed in his apartment by the trio of authorities.

“At least I know he’s in custody but she’ll never be replaced,” said Horace Jackson Jr., Nekia Jackson’s father to News Channel 4. “I just grieve for my family. Kids and grandkids. They’re suffering behind this. We’ve got to go and grow up real fast and deal with this grief.”

This isn’t Jones first run in with the law, as he has been previously arrested in 2007 for selling counterfeit DVD’s, driving under the influence and marijuana distribution, while he was also arrested in 2011 for suspicion of domestic violence against a pregnant woman and 2014, he was convicted of domestic abuse and interference with an emergency phone call.

Jones has a record of 2-6-0 as a professional MMA fighter, who lost to Klayton Mai at Bellator 146 in November 2015. His last fight came at a Rine’s Karate MMA event, he was submitted by Jeremiah Castillo.
