Denver picked up a big fight earlier in Donald Cerrone vs. Jorge Masvidal, but it just gained a big-time heavyweight battle.
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski is returning to the cage to take on the surging Francis Ngannou on the show. This serves as a major leap in competition for Ngannou.
The 37 year-old Arlovski is looking to get back on track after three consecutive losses. Arlovski was brought back to the UFC in 2014 after six years away from the company, and reeled off four big victories, including wins over Frank Mir, Antonio Silva and Travis Browne. In the not-updated UFC rankings, Arlovski is at #8.
Ngannou, ranked #11, is fresh off of a double wristlock victory over Anthony Hamilton at UFC Albany. Ngannou is undefeated in the UFC, at 4-0. Arlovski will be his first top-15 opponent.
UFC on FOX 23 takes place at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. The main card will air live on FOX, and is headlined by Julianna Pena vs. Valentina Shevchenko.
