Current World Series Of Fighting Heavyweight Champion Blagoy Ivanov will be defending his heavyweight championship against a yet to be named opponent at the World Series Of Fighting 35.
The reason that an opponent has yet to be named is that Ivanov (14-1-0) will defend his championship against the winner of a bout between UFC veteran Shawn Jordan (18-7-0) and former CES MMA Heavyweight Champion Ashley Gooch (10-4-0), the bout is a part of the main card for the World Series Of Fighting 33.
Ivanov has already defended his championship twice, defeating Strikeforce veteran Derrick Mehmen and UFC veteran Josh Copeland.
Ivanov is also remembered for surviving a near fatal stabbing in 2012 at a bar where the fighter was placed in a coma and lost a large amount of weight during recovery. He briefly returned a few years later to compete at Bellator MMA before coming to the promotion he now calls home in 2015. Ivanov gained fame when he defeated Fedor Emelianenko in a sambo match.
World Series Of Fighting 35 does have a second heavyweight bout announced for the card that will see UFC veteran Jared Rosholt (14-3-0) make his promotional debut against Caio Alencar (10-1-0).
Other bouts for this card are expected to be announced shortly.
World Series Of Fighting 35 will be taking place on Saturday, December 3rd from the Xfinity Arena in Everett, Washington with Blagoy Ivanov and an opponent to be announced in the main event.
