Andre Berto is widely regarded to be one of the best boxers to ever step into the ring and now he wants to prove he can be one of the best fighters in MMA.
The boxing star wants UFC President Dana White to call him so they can discuss a possible UFC debut.
“I want all of ‘em!” Berto said to TMZ. “Dana White, you know me, you know my family’s been in MMA for a while, I’m coming to the UFC so Dana White, call me! Tell Dana to call me. I’ll go to the UFC.”
If Berto were to get into the UFC, then he would be the first big name male boxer since James Toney to get a fight inside of the Octagon.
Berto says he want to compete in the UFC to do something that has never been done before in either boxing or MMA.
“I wanna be the first fighter ever to be a world champion in boxing and go get a UFC world title. It’s never been done. That’s never been done. Tell Dana to holler at me!,” says Berto.
UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor recently crossed over into pro boxing, suffering a tenth round TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather in “The Money Fight.”
