Brandon Figueroa vs. Oscar Escandon Is New PBC On FS1 Main Event

In the wake of Victor Ortiz's sexual assault charges, PBC has made a massive change in its upcoming boxing card on FS1.

Ortiz was supposed to fight John Molina Jr. in the main event of the September 30 PBC card from Ontario, California, but the fight is no longer happening. The announcement comes days after Ortiz turned himself in to authorities after the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office charged Ortiz with three felony counts of sexual assault, including forcible rape. Ortiz was recently released from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office East Valley station on a $100,000 bail.

As such, the new main event of the September 30 PBC card is now a featherweight bout between Brandon Figueroa and former world title challenger Oscar Escandon. Molina, who was going to be making his welterweight debut, has since then been taken out of the card entirely and will compete again at a later date. There was some hope that a late replacement could be found to keep Molina in the main event, but no suitable option appeared to have been found, forcing the change from PBC.

The rest of the televised card will see heavyweight prospect Efe Ajagba compete in his first fight since the infamous "fight" against Curtis Harper that saw Harper walk out of the ring as soon as the fight started.

Other fights also include a fight between heavyweight prospect and Olympic silver medalist Joe Joyce taking on Iago Kiladze and unbeaten junior middleweight fighter Joey Spence taking on fellow undefeated prospect Stephen Fulton.
