Brandon Rios To Return To The Ring On June PBC Card

Former world champion Brandon Rios is ready to make his return to the ring since November 2015 when he headlines a PBC on FS1 card on June 11.

Rios is facing Aaron Herrera in the main event of the card, which will feature several unbeaten prospects on the undercard as well.

Televised coverage of the card will begin at 10:30 p.m. ET after the Mexico vs. U.S.A. FIFA World Cup qualifier on FS1 and FOX Deportes and will feature unbeaten Mario Barrios in a 10-round super lightweight contest against Mexico?s Jose Luis Rodriguez and undefeated prospect Jose Miguel Borrego squaring-off against once-beaten Kevin Watts in an eight-round super lightweight bout.

Herrera is 32-6-1 in his career and has won his last three fights after losing the three fights prior. In 2013, Herrera unsuccessfully challenged for the WBO International super lightweight title,but lost to Jason Pagara via unanimous decision.

Rios is a former WBA lightweight champion, last fighting Timothy Bradley in 2015, but lost via ninth-round TKO. That fight was for the WBO welterweight championship. Rios has fought Manny Pacquiao and had a three-fight series against Mike Alvarado, all title fights and going 2-1 against Alvarado.

Premier Boxing Champions has been busy filling the summer up with cards. They recently announced that it will hold the first boxing card at Nassau Coliseum since 1986 when Robert Guerrero and Omar Figueroa meet in the main event of a PBC on FOX card on July 15.
