Brian Viloria vs. Artem Dalakian For Vacant WBA Flyweight Title Official For February

Almost three years since his last loss, Brian Viloria is back fighting for a world title.

The four-time world champion will get a chance to fight for the vacant WBA flyweight title when he faces Artem Dalakian on February 24 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. That fight will be a part of the "Superfly 2" card HBO is in charge of, but the fight won't be a part of the three-fight telecast which hasn't been finalized.

Viloria and Dalakian will be fighting for the title that was vacated by three-division world champion Kazuto Ioka when he recently announced his retirement from the sport.

"I've worked very hard to earn this shot for a fifth world title and I'm not going to let it slip away. I won my first world title in Los Angeles [in 2005] and I couldn't be more excited to be back home to fight for the WBA flyweight world championship in front of my friends, family and supportive fans. I've been working in the gym for more than a month in the hope that this fight would materialize," Viloria said when the fight was announced.

Viloria has won two fights since taking a 17-month long break from the sport after losing to Roman Gonzalez back in October 2015. Dalakian has won all 15 of his professional fights, 11 of those coming via knockout.

The "Superfly 2" main event sees Srisaket Sor Rungvisai defending his WBC super flyweight title against Juan Francisco Estrada and McWilliams Arroyo fighting Carlos Cuadras in another super flyweight bout. HBO plans to include a third fight in the super flyweight division to round out the rest of the television card.
